This August, we will be at Printed Matter’s LA Art Book Fair (LAABF) as it makes its returns to Los Angeles — the first time back since 2019! LAABF 2023 is taking place August 10–13 at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of downtown Los Angeles.

A selection of our titles will be available, including signed copies of Mystery Street by Vasantha Yogananthan, Leaving and Waving by Deanna Dikeman and Painting by Toshio Shibata.

We are also very pleased to announce that Vasantha Yogananthan has been shortlisted for Prix Pictet 2023: Human, with his series Mystery Street.

The winner will be revealed on Thursday 28 September 2023, at the opening of the exhibition of the 12 shortlisted photographers at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (UK). The exhibition will then travel in more than a dozen international venues.

In the summer of 2022, Vasantha Yogananthan spent three months making Mystery Street, a body of work centered on the theme of childhood in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States. The 300-year-old city’s past was partly wiped out by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, before a new generation of children were born. Like the children he photographed, it is a city whose future is greatly threatened by climate change.
