The Artist’s Atlas: Tokyo
The Artist’s Atlas: Tokyo is a city guide unlike any other — Tokyo as seen, lived, and loved by the artists who call it home.
Conceived by Cécile Poimboeuf-Koizumi, the book brings together 15 artists who each share a deeply personal map of the city: their favourite cafés, hidden streets, late-night bars, bookstores, galleries and neighbourhoods. More than a travel guide, it is an intimate portrait of Tokyo through creative eyes.
Born in 1987 to a Japanese mother and French father, Cécile Poimboeuf-Koizumi grew up between cultures, spending her earliest years in Tokyo — a city that has remained central to her imagination and identity. After years of being asked where to go, eat, stay, and wander in Tokyo, she decided to invite artists to answer the question themselves.
Part atlas, part artist book, part cultural diary, The Artist’s Atlas: Tokyo offers readers a rare way into the city: through the people who create within it.
